VERTEBRATES AND LIFE CYCLE WORKSHOP

  Simón Andrade, 5th grade. Vertebrates

Laura Vergara, 4h grade. Life Cycle

Students in this workshop had to talk spontaneously about vertebrates and life cycle using present simple. Also, they practiced suitable vocabulary and grammar related to the English and Science topics. Finally, they recorded their performance and uploaded  their presentation in Edmodo making emphasis in  pronunciation and fluency of their own speech.

After watching each video, there was a life cycle projects demonstrations where students from 4th and 5th  got together to share what they made.

Finally, there was a socialization for sharing the videos made by students.

WHAT IS THE PROJECT ABOUT?

Social networks are part of the students´ life; this means that they spend a lot of time using them. What we want to do is to take advance of student’s performance with those ways of interaction and to get them involved within an educational context. For this reason, Edmodo will be enjoyable, interactive and easy to understand and students will reinforce and overcome their learning needs.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE:
To analyze the use of Edmodo’s development within the learning process in English and Science subjects in 4th and 5th grades at Country Bilingual School

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
  •    Identify the different skills that students develop through an educational social network as Edmodo.
  •     Analyze how teacher uses Edmodo as a digital tool to encourage different skills in English and Science subjects
  •    Involve science topics in the use of English grammar with receptive and productive skills.
